Laura's Professional Journey
My name is Laura. As a Human Rights Legal Expert and qualified Psychotherapist specialising in trauma-informed care, my personal journey as a domestic violence survivor over four decades profoundly informs my commitment to empower others and advocate for systemic change. With 25 years of professional achievement in law and policy, I have dedicated my career to advancing justice and equality, working extensively at global and local levels.
Working in the area of international family violence requires a deep understanding of the complex emotional, cultural, and psychological impacts of trauma. A trauma‑informed approach ensures that survivors are met with safety, empathy, and sensitivity, while recognising how experiences shape present responses.
As a qualified psychotherapist, I bring not only professional training and expertise, but also the skills to support individuals and families through the profound challenges of recovery. By integrating trauma-informed care with evidence-based therapeutic practice, I provide a space where clients can rebuild trust, restore dignity, and work toward lasting healing, even in the most challenging cross-cultural and systemic contexts.

Collaborations and Contact
My portfolio encompasses policy development, strategic consultations, and grassroots activism, with a particular emphasis on supporting marginalised communities, advancing women’s rights, fostering gender diversity, and addressing issues related to human trafficking and the plight of refugees. My collaborations span prominent international organisations and NGOs—including the United Nations and UNODC—aimed at driving impactful change and upholding human rights across diverse contexts.
I also welcome opportunities to collaborate with universities, research institutes, and academic networks in initiatives that advance human rights and foster healing.
